NEW
SECTION

148.4
Anesthesia
services
——

inspection
of
medical
settings.

The
board
may
conduct
an
inspection
of
a
medical
setting
3
in
which
a
licensee
under
this
chapter
provides
anesthesia
4
services.
The
inspection
may
include
review
of
any
5
documentation
related
to
the
provision
of
such
anesthesia
6
services.
The
board
may
contract
with
another
state
agency
or
7
qualified
person
to
conduct
inspections
under
this
section.
8
The
costs
of
inspections
shall
be
paid
through
the
expenditure
9
of
licensing
fees.
The
board
shall
adopt
rules
to
administer
10
this
section.

EXPLANATION

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
authorizes
the
board
of
medicine
to
conduct

inspections
of
medical
settings
in
which
anesthesia
services

are
provided
by
licensees
under
the
purview
of
the
board

of
medicine.
The
inspection
may
include
review
of
any

documentation
related
to
the
provision
of
anesthesia
services.

The
bill
authorizes
the
board
to
contract
with
another
state

agency
or
qualified
person
to
conduct
the
inspections.
License

fees
shall
be
used
to
cover
the
costs
of
inspections.
The

board
is
directed
to
adopt
rules
to
administer
the
bill.
