H.F. 2078 Section 1. Section 257.8, subsection 1, Code 2014, is 1 amended to read as follows: 2 1. State percent of growth. The state percent of growth 3 for the budget year beginning July 1, 2012, is two percent. 4 The state percent of growth for the budget year beginning July 5 1, 2013, is two percent. The state percent of growth for the 6 budget year beginning July 1, 2014, is four percent. The 7 state percent of growth for the budget year beginning July 1, 8 2015, is six percent. The state percent of growth for each 9 subsequent budget year shall be established by statute which 10 shall be enacted within thirty days of the submission in the 11 year preceding the base year of the governor’s budget under 12 section 8.21 . The establishment of the state percent of growth 13 for a budget year shall be the only subject matter of the bill 14 which enacts the state percent of growth for a budget year. 15 Sec. 2. EFFECTIVE UPON ENACTMENT. This Act, being deemed of 16 immediate importance, takes effect upon enactment. 17 EXPLANATION 18 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 19 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 20 This bill establishes a state percent of growth of 6 percent 21 for the school budget year beginning July 1, 2015. 22 The bill takes effect upon enactment. 23 -1- LSB 5822YH (3) 85 md/sc 1/ 1
