H.F. 2072 Section 1. Section 99B.11, subsection 2, paragraph e, Code 1 2014, is amended to read as follows: 2 e. A video machine golf tournament game which is an 3 interactive bona fide contest. A player operates a video 4 machine golf tournament game with a trackball assembly or by 5 player-directed movement with a video or electronic gaming 6 device which acts as the golfer’s swing and determines the 7 results of play and tournament scores. A video machine golf 8 tournament game is capable of receiving program and data 9 information from an off-site location. A tournament operator 10 shall prominently display all tournament rules. 11 EXPLANATION 12 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 13 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 14 This bill authorizes the paying of awards and prizes to 15 participants in video machine tournament games. 16 Code section 99B.11, concerning bona fide contests, is 17 amended to provide that a video machine tournament game is a 18 bona fide contest, allowing the payment of awards to persons 19 winning the contest. The bill provides that a player operates 20 a video machine tournament game with a trackball assembly or 21 by player-directed movement with a video or electronic gaming 22 device which determines the results of play and tournament 23 scores.
