H.F. 2038 Section 1. SCHOOL FINANCE FORMULA REVIEW COMMITTEE 1 —— DUTIES. The school finance formula review committee 2 established pursuant to section 257.1, subsection 4, shall, as 3 part of its next five-year review and as part of its report 4 required to be submitted to the general assembly no later 5 than January 1, 2015, examine the potential for using the 6 department of education’s electronic access system for Iowa 7 education records, or a similar system, to determine actual 8 student attendance for purposes of school district funding 9 under chapter 257. 10 Sec. 2. EFFECTIVE UPON ENACTMENT. This Act, being deemed of 11 immediate importance, takes effect upon enactment. 12 EXPLANATION 13 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 14 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 15 This bill requires the school finance formula review 16 committee to examine the potential for using the department 17 of education’s electronic access system for Iowa education 18 records, or a similar system, to determine actual student 19 attendance for purposes of school district funding.
