Section
1.
Section
84A.6,
subsection
3,
Code
2013,
is

amended
to
read
as
follows:

a.
The
director
of
the
department
of
workforce

development,
in
cooperation
with
the
department
of
human
rights
4
and
the
vocational
rehabilitation
services
division
of
the
5
department
of
education,
shall
establish
a
program
to
provide
6
job
placement
and
training
to
persons
with
disabilities.

b.
The
director
of
the
department
of
workforce
development,
8
in
cooperation
with
the
department
of
human
services,
shall
9
assist
counties
and
county
regions
organized
in
accordance
with
10
section
331.389
in
developing
service
alternatives
and
funding
11
options
for
persons
who
receive
or
formerly
received
county
12
and
regional
mental
health
and
disability
services
involving
13
sheltered
workshop,
day
activity,
work
activity,
or
other
14
employment-related
services.

EXPLANATION

This
bill
requires
the
department
of
workforce
development,

in
cooperation
with
the
department
of
human
services,
to
assist
18
counties
in
developing
services
alternatives
and
funding
19
options
to
support
the
employment-related
needs
of
persons
20
receiving
mental
health
and
disability
services
through
the
21
county
and
regional
mental
health
and
disability
service

system.
