Section
1.
Section
237A.13,
subsection
8,
Code
2013,
is

amended
to
read
as
follows:

8.
Nothing
in
this
section
shall
be
construed
as
or
is

intended
as,
or
shall
imply,
a
grant
of
entitlement
for
4
services
to
persons
who
are
eligible
for
assistance
due
to
5
an
income
level
or
other
eligibility
circumstance
addressed
6
in
this
section
.
Any
state
obligation
to
provide
services
7
pursuant
to
this
section
is
limited
to
the
extent
of
the
funds
8
appropriated
for
the
purposes
of
state
child
care
assistance.
9
The
standard
period
for
redetermining
the
eligibility
of
a
10
program
participant
is
twelve
months
after
the
date
of
the
11
initial
determination
of
eligibility
and
every
twelve
months
12
thereafter.

EXPLANATION
14
This
bill
relates
to
the
eligibility
determinations
for
15
the
state
child
care
assistance
program.
The
program
is
16
administered
by
the
department
of
human
services
to
furnish
17
financial
assistance
for
child
care
needs
provided
to
children
18
in
families
with
low
income
or
other
special
needs.
This
bill
19
provides
that
the
standard
period
for
redetermining
eligibility
20
of
a
program
participant
is
12
months
from
the
date
of
the
21
eligibility
determination
and
every
12
months
thereafter.
