DEPARTMENT

AGING

APPROPRIATION.
There

is
appropriated
from
the
general
fund
of
the
state
to
the

department
on
aging
for
the
fiscal
year
beginning
July
1,
3
2013,
and
ending
June
30,
2014,
the
following
amount,
or
so
4
much
thereof
as
is
necessary,
to
be
used
for
the
purposes
5
designated:

For
aging
programs
for
the
department
on
aging
and
7
area
agencies
on
aging
to
provide
citizens
of
Iowa
who
are
8
60
years
of
age
and
older
with
case
management
for
frail
9
elders
services,
services
available
from
Iowa’s
aging
and

disabilities
resource
center,
and
other
services
which
may
11
include
but
are
not
limited
to
adult
day
services,
respite
12
care,
chore
services,
information
and
assistance,
and
13
material
aid,
and
information
and
options
counseling
for
14
persons
with
disabilities
who
are
18
years
of
age
or
older;

and
for
salaries,
support,
administration,
maintenance,
and

miscellaneous
purposes:

EXPLANATION

This
bill
makes
an
appropriation
from
the
general
fund
of
the

state
to
the
department
on
aging
for
FY
2013-2014
in
the
amount

of
$13,849,329
to
support
aging
programs
for
the
department
and

the
area
agencies
on
aging
to
provide
services
to
citizens
of
23
Iowa
who
are
60
years
of
age
and
older.
