COMMISSION

REGARDING
VETERANS
NATIONAL
RECOVERY
CENTER.

1.
The
commission
of
veterans
affairs
shall
conduct
a
study
3
of
the
business
plan
for
the
repurposing
of
the
former
Maytag
4
headquarters
complex
in
Newton,
submitted
to
the
commission
by
5
the
veterans
national
recovery
center,
doing
business
as
the
6
veterans
national
careers
corporation.

2.
The
commission
of
veterans
affairs
shall
submit
the
8
business
plan
for
review
and
certification
by
a
certified
9
public
accountant.

3.
The
commission
of
veterans
affairs
shall
fund
the
11
costs
of
such
study,
review,
and
certification
with
moneys
12
appropriated
to
the
commission
from
the
veterans
license
fee
13
fund
pursuant
to
section
35A.11.

4.
The
commission
on
veterans
affairs
shall
provide
the
15
results
of
the
commission’s
study
and
any
relevant
materials
16
produced
in
the
review
and
certification
to
the
governor
and
17
the
general
assembly,
with
a
copy
to
the
veterans
national
18
recovery
center,
doing
business
as
the
veterans
national
19
careers
corporation,
by
June
1,
2012.

Sec.
2.
EFFECTIVE
UPON
ENACTMENT.
This
Act,
being
deemed
of
21
immediate
importance,
takes
effect
upon
enactment.

EXPLANATION
23
This
bill
requires
that
the
commission
of
veterans
affairs
24
take
certain
actions
related
to
a
plan
to
establish
a
veterans
25
national
recovery
center
in
Newton.
26
The
bill
requires
that
the
commission
conduct
a
study
27
of
the
business
plan
for
the
repurposing
of
the
Maytag
28
headquarters
complex
in
Newton,
submitted
to
the
commission
29
by
the
veterans
national
recovery
center,
doing
business
as
30
the
veterans
national
careers
corporation.
The
bill
requires
31
the
commission
of
veterans
affairs
to
have
the
business
plan
32
reviewed
and
certified
by
a
certified
public
accountant.
The
33
commission
shall
pay
for
the
costs
of
such
study,
review,
and
34
certification
with
moneys
appropriated
to
the
commission
from
