S.F. _____ H.F. _____ Section 1. Section 91C.9, subsection 1, Code 2011, is 1 amended to read as follows: 2 1. A contractor registration revolving fund is created in 3 the state treasury. The revolving fund shall be administered 4 by the commissioner and shall consist of moneys collected 5 by the commissioner as fees. The commissioner shall remit 6 all fees collected pursuant to this chapter to the revolving 7 fund. The moneys in the revolving fund are appropriated to and 8 shall be used by the commissioner to pay the actual costs and 9 expenses necessary to perform the duties of the commissioner 10 and the division of labor as described in chapter 73A and this 11 chapter . All salaries and expenses properly chargeable to the 12 revolving fund shall be paid from the revolving fund. 13 EXPLANATION 14 This bill appropriates construction contractor registration 15 fees collected by the labor commissioner to the labor 16 commissioner to pay for the cost of implementing Code chapter 17 73A relating to public contracts and bonds.
