Section 49.11, subsection 3, unnumbered 1 paragraph 1, Code 2011, is amended to read as follows: 2 The precincts established pursuant to section 49.7 shall 3 not be changed except in the manner provided in this section 4 or in a manner as otherwise provided by law. However, for 5 For any election other than the primary or general election 6 or any special election held under section 69.14 , the county 7 commissioner of elections may: 8 Sec. 2. Section 49.11, subsection 3, paragraph d, Code 2011, 9 is amended by striking the paragraph. 10 EXPLANATION 11 Current law allows the county commissioner of elections, 12 under certain circumstances, to consolidate or divide precincts 13 or establish voting centers for any election except the primary 14 and general elections. Current law also, under different 15 circumstances, allows the county commissioner of elections to 16 consolidate precincts for all elections, including the primary 17 and general elections.
