S.F. _____ Section 1. Section 249A.4, subsection 7, Code 2011, is 1 amended by adding the following new paragraph: 2 NEW PARAGRAPH . c. Dental hygienists licensed pursuant to 3 chapter 153 shall be regarded as approved providers of health 4 care services for purposes of managed care or prepaid services 5 contracts under the medical assistance program. This paragraph 6 shall not be construed to expand the scope of practice of a 7 dental hygienist pursuant to chapter 153. 8 EXPLANATION 9 This bill provides that licensed dental hygienists are to 10 be regarded as approved providers of health care services for 11 managed care or prepaid services contracts under the Medicaid 12 program.
