Section 331.604, subsection 3, paragraph b, 1 subparagraph (3), unnumbered paragraph 1, Code 2011, is amended 2 to read as follows: 3 Beginning For the period beginning July 1, 2011, and ending 4 June 30, 2016, the recorder shall also collect a fee of one 5 dollar two dollars for each recorded transaction, regardless 6 of the number of pages, for which a fee is paid pursuant to 7 subsection 1 to be used for the purposes in subparagraph (2) 8 and for the following purposes: 9 EXPLANATION 10 This bill relates to the fees charged by a county recorder 11 for each recorded transaction. 12 Current law requires that, between July 1, 2009, and June 13 30, 2011, a recorder charge a fee of $3 for each recorded 14 transaction regardless of the number of pages. Current law 15 reduces this fee to $1 for each recorded transaction beginning 16 July 1, 2011. 17 The bill increases the fee to be charged beginning July 1, 18 2011, from $1 to $2 for each recorded transaction, and provides 19 an end date for imposition of the fee of June 30, 2016.
