1.
Section
257.11,
subsection
6,
paragraph
a,
Code

2011,
is
amended
to
read
as
follows:

a.
In
order
to
provide
additional
funding
to
increase
3
student
opportunities
and
redirect
more
resources
to
student
4
programming
for
school
districts
that
share
operational
5
functions,
a
supplementary
weighting
of
two
hundredths
per
6
pupil
shall
be
assigned
to
pupils
enrolled
in
a
district
that
7
shares
with
a
political
subdivision
one
or
more
operational
8
functions
in
the
areas
of
superintendent
management,
business
9
management,
human
resources,
transportation,
curriculum
10
management,
or
operation
and
maintenance
for
at
least
twenty
11
percent
of
the
school
year.
The
additional
weighting
shall
be
12
assigned
for
each
discrete
operational
function
shared.
For
13
the
purposes
of
this
section
,
“political
subdivision”
means
a
14
city,
township,
county,
school
corporation,
merged
area,
area
15
education
agency,
institution
governed
by
the
state
board
of
16
regents,
or
any
other
governmental
subdivision.

Sec.
2.
EFFECTIVE
UPON
ENACTMENT
AND
APPLICABILITY.
This
18
Act,
being
deemed
of
immediate
importance,
takes
effect
upon
19
enactment
and
applies
to
school
budget
years
beginning
on
or
20
after
July
1,
2011.

EXPLANATION
22
This
bill
adds
curriculum
management
to
the
list
of
23
operational
functions
that
school
districts
may
receive
24
supplementary
weighting
incentives
for
when
the
school
district
25
shares
such
operational
functions
with
a
political
subdivision.
26
The
bill
takes
effect
upon
enactment
and
applies
to
school
27
budget
years
beginning
on
or
after
July
1,
2011.
