S.F. 492 Section 1. Section 633.635, subsection 1, Code 2011, is 1 amended by adding the following new paragraph: 2 NEW PARAGRAPH . 0f. If a ward is removed from the ward’s 3 residence, the guardian shall provide an affidavit to the 4 ward’s family concerning the guardian’s actions relating to 5 the removal and including a detailed inventory of the ward’s 6 clothing, furniture, vehicle, and other personal effects at the 7 time of removal and their current status. 8 Sec. 2. Section 633.641, Code 2011, is amended by adding the 9 following new unnumbered paragraph: 10 NEW UNNUMBERED PARAGRAPH . If a ward is removed from the 11 ward’s residence, the conservator shall provide an affidavit to 12 the ward’s family concerning the conservator’s actions relating 13 to the removal and including a detailed inventory of the ward’s 14 clothing, furniture, vehicle, and other personal effects at the 15 time of removal and their current status. 16 EXPLANATION 17 This bill relates to guardians and conservators by amending 18 Code section 633.635, relating to the responsibilities of a 19 guardian, and Code section 633.641, relating to the duties of 20 a conservator. 21 If a ward is removed from the ward’s residence, the guardian 22 or conservator is required to provide an affidavit to the 23 ward’s family concerning the guardian or conservator’s actions 24 relating to the removal and including a detailed inventory of 25 the ward’s clothing, furniture, vehicle, and other personal 26 effects at the time of removal and their current status. 27 -1- LSB 2554SV (2) 84 rh/nh 1/ 1
