S.F. 300 Section 1. Section 476B.5, subsection 4, Code 2011, is 1 amended to read as follows: 2 4. The maximum amount of nameplate generating capacity of 3 all qualified facilities the board may find eligible under 4 this chapter shall not exceed one hundred fifty megawatts of 5 nameplate generating capacity. 6 Sec. 2. Section 476C.1, subsection 6, paragraph d, Code 7 2011, is amended to read as follows: 8 d. Was initially placed into service on or after July 1, 9 2005, and before January 1, 2012 2013 . 10 Sec. 3. Section 476C.3, subsection 4, Code 2011, is amended 11 to read as follows: 12 4. The maximum amount of nameplate generating capacity 13 of all wind energy conversion facilities the board may find 14 eligible under this chapter shall not exceed three hundred 15 thirty sixty-three megawatts of nameplate generating capacity. 16 The maximum amount of energy production capacity equivalent of 17 all other facilities the board may find eligible under this 18 chapter shall not exceed a combined output of twenty megawatts 19 of nameplate generating capacity and one hundred sixty-seven 20 billion British thermal units of heat for a commercial 21 purpose. Of the maximum amount of energy production capacity 22 equivalent of all other facilities found eligible under this 23 chapter , fifty-five billion British thermal units of heat for a 24 commercial purpose shall be reserved for an eligible facility 25 that is a refuse conversion facility for processed, engineered 26 fuel from a multicounty solid waste management planning area. 27 The maximum amount of energy production capacity the board 28 may find eligible for a single refuse conversion facility 29 is fifty-five billion British thermal units of heat for a 30 commercial purpose. 31 EXPLANATION 32 This bill relates to wind energy production and development. 33 The bill decreases the maximum amount of nameplate 34 generating capacity for all qualified facilities eligible for 35 -1- LSB 1967SV (2) 84 rn/nh 1/ 2
S.F. 300 the wind energy production tax credit specified in Code chapter 1 476B from 150 megawatts to 100 megawatts. 2 The bill extends the time period during which an eligible 3 renewable energy facility seeking to qualify for the renewable 4 energy tax credit in Code chapter 476C shall have been placed 5 in service by one year to before January 1, 2013. 6 The bill increases the maximum amount of nameplate 7 generating capacity for all wind energy conversion facilities 8 eligible for the renewable energy tax credit from 330 megawatts 9 to 363 megawatts, in recognition of a waiting list for receipt 10 of the tax credit as established in Code section 476C.3, 11 subsection 5. 12 -2- LSB 1967SV (2) 84 rn/nh 2/ 2
