1.
Section
100B.22,
Code
2011,
is
amended
by
adding
1
the
following
new
subsection:

NEW
SUBSECTION
.
5A.
a.
A
lead
public
agency
listed
in
3
subsection
1,
paragraph
“a”
,
that
serves
multiple
organized
4
volunteer
fire
departments
in
this
state
may
apply
for
and
5
shall
receive
reimbursement
from
the
state
fire
marshal
for
6
costs
related
to
the
maintenance
and
operation
of
mechanical
7
facility
equipment
for
burn
towers
utilized
in
the
training
8
of
volunteer
fire
fighters
in
the
previous
year.
The
state
9
fire
marshal
shall
reimburse
an
agency
for
the
percentage
of
10
such
costs
attributable
to
the
use
of
such
mechanical
facility
11
equipment
in
the
training
of
volunteer
fire
fighters.
12
b.
The
state
fire
marshal
shall
prescribe
the
form
of
the
13
application
and
specify
the
information
to
be
included
and
14
shall
provide
such
application
to
each
lead
public
agency
on
or
15
before
August
15
of
each
year.
16
c.
A
lead
public
agency
seeking
reimbursement
pursuant
to
17
this
section
shall
submit
all
application
materials
to
the
18
state
fire
marshal
on
or
before
October
1
of
each
year.
The
19
state
fire
marshal
shall
provide
reimbursements
to
such
lead
20
public
agencies
on
or
before
November
15
of
each
year.

EXPLANATION
22
This
bill
requires
the
state
fire
marshal
to
reimburse
23
regional
emergency
response
training
centers
for
costs
related
24
to
the
maintenance
and
operation
of
mechanical
facility
25
equipment
for
burn
towers
utilized
in
the
training
of
volunteer
26
fire
fighters
in
the
previous
year.
To
be
eligible
for
27
reimbursement,
the
lead
public
agency
of
a
regional
training
28
center
must
serve
multiple
organized
volunteer
fire
departments
29
in
this
state.
30
The
bill
also
provides
that
the
state
fire
marshal
shall
31
prescribe
the
form
of
the
application
for
reimbursement
32
and
provide
such
applications
to
each
lead
public
agency
on
33
or
before
August
15
of
each
year.
A
lead
public
agency
is
34
required
to
submit
the
application
to
the
state
fire
marshal
by
