TRANSPORTATION

REVIEW.
The
department
of
human
services
shall
convene
a
2
consumer
panel
comprised
of
medical
assistance
recipients
3
utilizing
medical
assistance
program
transportation
management
4
services
to
review
the
applicable
policies
and
services
5
provided.
The
review
shall
include
but
is
not
limited
to
6
issues
including
the
prior
notice
required
of
a
recipient
7
in
scheduling
appointments;
documentation
requirements
for
8
reimbursement
of
recipients
for
mileage
and
meals;
and
the
9
number
of
individuals
allowed
to
accompany
a
recipient
to
10
appointments
for
which
the
transportation
is
provided
at
no
11
extra
charge.
The
department
shall
submit
a
report
of
the
12
review
and
any
recommendations
made
by
the
panel
to
improve
13
transportation
management
services
for
consumers
to
the
general
14
assembly
by
December
15,
2012.

EXPLANATION
16
This
bill
directs
the
department
of
human
services
(DHS)
17
to
convene
a
consumer
panel
comprised
of
medical
assistance
18
recipients
utilizing
medical
assistance
program
transportation
19
management
services
to
review
the
applicable
policies
and
20
services
provided.
The
review
is
to
include,
at
a
minimum,
21
issues
including
the
prior
notice
required
of
a
recipient
22
in
scheduling
appointments;
documentation
requirements
for
23
reimbursement
of
recipients
for
mileage
and
meals;
and
the
24
number
of
individuals
allowed
to
accompany
a
recipient
to
25
appointments
for
which
the
transportation
is
provided
at
no
26
extra
charge.
DHS
is
directed
to
