EXPLANATION

This
bill
relates
to
the
membership
of
the
statewide

interoperable
communications
system
board.

The
bill
adds
an
emergency
manager
who
is
a
representative
of

the
Iowa
emergency
management
association
to
the
board.

The
bill
provides
that
the
governor
shall
solicit
and
11
consider
recommendations
from
professional
or
volunteer
12
organizations
prior
to
making
the
appointment
to
the
board.

Code
section
80.28(4)
specifies
the
representative
of
the
14
Iowa
emergency
management
association
appointed
to
the
board
15
shall
serve
a
three-year
term.
