The
board
of
directors
of
a
school
district
may
pay
a

mathematics
or
science
teacher
salary
supplement
in
the
amount

of
not
more
than
ten
thousand
dollars
annually
to
a
teacher

licensed
under
chapter
272
who
meets
all
of
the
following

qualifications:

1.
Is
employed
on
a
full-time
basis
under
sections
279.13
8
through
279.19
by
the
school
district.

2.
Possesses
an
endorsement
issued
by
the
board
of
10
educational
examiners
under
chapter
272
authorizing
the
11
teacher
to
provide
instruction
at
the
secondary
school
level
12
in
mathematics,
biological
science,
chemistry,
earth
science,
13
general
science,
physical
science,
or
physics.

Is
assigned
by
the
school
district
to
teach
two
or
more
15
mathematics
or
science
courses
each
semester.

EXPLANATION
17
This
bill
permits
a
school
district
to
pay
a
salary
18
supplement
of
not
more
than
$10,000
annually
to
a
teacher
who
19
is
employed
by
the
school
district;
holds
an
endorsement
issued
20
by
the
board
of
educational
examiners
to
teach
mathematics,
21
biological
science,
chemistry,
earth
science,
general
science,
22
physical
science,
or
physics
at
the
secondary
school
level;
23
and
is
assigned
by
the
school
district
to
teach
two
or
more
24
mathematics
or
science
courses
each
semester.
