Duty
to
assist
——
emergency
1
or
accident.

A
person
who
is
present
at
the
scene
of
an
emergency
3
or
accident
who
knows
that
another
person
involved
in
the
4
emergency
or
accident
is
likely
to
suffer
or
has
suffered
5
serious
physical
injury
shall,
to
the
extent
that
the
person
6
can
do
so
without
danger
to
self
or
others,
give
reasonable
7
assistance
to
the
person.
Reasonable
assistance
may
include
8
obtaining
or
attempting
to
obtain
aid
from
law
enforcement
9
or
medical
personnel.
A
person
who
violates
this
section
is
10
guilty
of
an
aggravated
misdemeanor.

EXPLANATION
12
This
bill
imposes
a
duty
on
a
person
who
is
present
at
the
13
scene
of
an
emergency
or
accident
who
knows
that
another
person
14
involved
in
the
emergency
or
accident
is
likely
to
suffer
or
15
has
suffered
serious
physical
injury
shall,
to
the
extent
that
16
the
person
can
do
so
without
danger
to
self
or
others,
give
17
reasonable
assistance
to
the
person.
Reasonable
assistance
18
may
include
obtaining
or
attempting
to
obtain
aid
from
law
19
enforcement
or
medical
personnel.
A
person
who
violates
the
20
bill
is
guilty
of
an
aggravated
misdemeanor,
punishable
by
21
confinement
for
no
more
than
two
years
and
a
fine
of
at
least
22
$625
but
not
more
than
$6,250.
