Exercise
of
powers.

The
board
of
directors
of
a
school
district
shall
operate,

control,
and
supervise
all
public
schools
located
within
its

district
boundaries
and
may
exercise
any
broad
and
implied

power
related
to
the
operation,
control,
and
supervision
of
5
those
public
schools
except
as
expressly
prohibited
by
the
6
Constitution
of
the
State
of
Iowa
or
by
statute.

EXPLANATION
8
This
bill
relates
to
the
powers,
and
general
applicability
9
of
the
exercise
of
those
powers,
of
school
boards
under
Code
10
chapter
274.
The
bill
provides
that
the
board
of
directors
11
of
each
school
district
shall
operate,
control,
and
supervise
12
all
public
schools
located
within
its
district
boundaries
13
and
further
provides
that
the
school
board
may
exercise
any
14
broad
and
implied
powers
related
to
the
operation,
control,
15
and
supervision
of
those
public
schools
except
as
expressly
16
prohibited
by
the
Constitution
of
the
State
of
Iowa
or
by

statute.
