NEW SECTION . 136D.5 Tanning by minors —— 1 restrictions. 2 The operator of a tanning facility shall not allow an 3 individual who is under eighteen years of age to use a tanning 4 device located within the facility unless the individual has a 5 prescription for ultraviolet radiation treatments written by a 6 physician licensed under chapter 148. 7 EXPLANATION 8 This bill provides that the operator of a tanning facility 9 shall not allow an individual who is under the age of 18 to 10 use a tanning device unless the individual has a prescription 11 for ultraviolet radiation treatments written by a physician. 12 Violation of Code chapter 136D is a simple misdemeanor.
