H.F. 79 Section 1. PARKING FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES VIOLATORS 1 —— STUDY AND REPORT. The department of transportation shall 2 conduct a study relating to the unlawful use of persons with 3 disabilities parking spaces, with the purpose of addressing the 4 fraudulent use of persons with disabilities parking placards, 5 registration plates and stickers, and parking cones. The 6 department may invite interested parties to participate in the 7 study, including but not limited to representatives from the 8 department of human services, the department of public safety, 9 law enforcement agencies, the business community, and the 10 general public. On or before December 1, 2011, the department 11 shall issue a report to the general assembly containing the 12 results of the study and recommendations to reduce the abuse of 13 persons with disabilities parking privileges. 14 EXPLANATION 15 This bill requires the department of transportation to 16 conduct a study relating to the unlawful use of persons 17 with disabilities parking spaces, specifically addressing 18 the fraudulent use of persons with disabilities parking 19 placards, registration plates and stickers, and parking 20 cones.
