H.F. 552 Section 1. MEDICAID WAIVER —— FAMILY PLANNING SERVICES. The 1 department of human services shall withdraw the request to 2 the centers for Medicare and Medicaid services of the United 3 States department of health and human services to amend the 4 medical assistance waiver for the Iowa family planning network 5 as specified in 2010 Iowa Acts, chapter 1192, section 11, 6 subsection 24, and shall instead request that the waiver 7 terminate on the original expiration date of January 31, 2011. 8 The department of human services shall terminate services under 9 the waiver in accordance with federal regulation. 10 EXPLANATION 11 This bill directs the department of human services (DHS) to 12 withdraw the request to the centers for Medicare and Medicaid 13 services of the United States department of health and human 14 services to amend the Medicaid waiver for the Iowa family 15 planning network which would have modified eligibility and 16 extended the waiver beyond the termination date of January 17 31, 2011. The bill directs DHS to instead request that the 18 waiver terminate on the original expiration date.
