H.F. 461 Section 1. Section 483A.8, subsection 2, Code 2011, is 1 amended to read as follows: 2 2. The deer hunting license shall be accompanied by a tag 3 designed to be used only once. When a deer is taken, the deer 4 shall be tagged and the tag shall be dated. The tag shall be 5 attached to the carcass of a deer taken within fifteen minutes 6 of the time the deer carcass is located after being taken, or 7 before the carcass is moved to be transported by any means from 8 the place where the deer was taken, whichever occurs first. 9 For each antlered deer taken, the tag shall be affixed to the 10 deer’s antlers. 11 EXPLANATION 12 This bill requires that a deer tag must be attached to the 13 carcass of a deer taken within 15 minutes of the time the deer 14 is located after being taken, or before the carcass is moved to 15 be transported by any means from the place where the deer was 16 taken, whichever occurs first. 17 Currently, by rule, a tag must be attached to the carcass of 18 a deer taken within 15 minutes of the time the deer is killed 19 or before the carcass is moved in any manner, whichever occurs 20 first. 21 -1- LSB 1841HV (3) 84 av/nh 1/ 1
