The
governor
of
this
state
is
hereby
requested
and

authorized
to
issue
annually
a
proclamation
designating
the

seventh
day
of
August
as
Purple
Heart
Day
and
to
encourage
all

governmental
bodies
in
the
state
to
observe
the
day
in
a
manner
5
that
honors
the
sacrifice
of
those
men
and
women
who
shed
their
6
blood
and
gave
their
lives
in
service
to
the
United
States
of
7
America.

EXPLANATION

This
bill
designates
August
7
of
each
year
as
Purple
Heart
10
Day.
This
designation
does
not
make
August
7
a
state
holiday.
