H.F. 305 Section 1. Section 455B.104, Code 2011, is amended by adding 1 the following new subsection: 2 NEW SUBSECTION . 5. Notwithstanding any provision of law to 3 the contrary, the department, a city, a county, or any other 4 governmental entity shall not use for any purpose a floodplain 5 map published by the federal emergency management agency until 6 the use of the specific map is approved by the general assembly 7 pursuant to legislation. 8 EXPLANATION 9 This bill relates to the use of floodplain maps published by 10 the federal emergency management agency. 11 The bill prohibits the department of natural resources, 12 a city, a county, or any other governmental entity from using 13 for any purpose a floodplain map published by the federal 14 emergency management agency until the use of the specific map 15 is approved by the general assembly pursuant to legislation. 16 -1- LSB 2501YH (4) 84 tm/nh 1/ 1
