amended
to
read
as

follows:

(1)
During
the
hours
of
5
a.m.
to
10
p.m.
over
the
most
4
direct
and
accessible
route
between
the
licensee’s
residence
5
and
schools
of
enrollment
or
the
closest
school
bus
stop
6
or
public
transportation
service,
and
between
schools
of
7
enrollment,
for
the
purpose
of
attending
duly
scheduled
courses
8
of
instruction
and
extracurricular
activities
within
the
school
9
district.
For
a
licensee
whose
parents
maintain
separate
10
residences,
“licensee’s
residence”
means
the
residence
of
any
11
parent
that
has
rights
of
physical
custody
of
or
visitation
12
with
the
licensee,
as
long
as
that
parent
resides
in
the
school
13
district
in
which
the
licensee
is
enrolled
or
a
school
district
14
that
is
contiguous
to
the
school
district
in
which
the
licensee
15
is
enrolled.

EXPLANATION
17
Under
current
law,
a
driver’s
license
may
be
issued
to
18
certain
persons
between
14
and
18
years
of
age
for
the
general
19
purpose
of
driving
to
and
from
school.
The
license
permits
20
driving
between
5
a.m.
and
10
p.m.
over
the
most
direct
and
21
accessible
route
between
the
licensee’s
residence
and
schools
22
of
enrollment
or
the
closest
bus
stop
for
the
purpose
of
23
attending
classes
and
extracurricular
activities
within
the
24
school
district.
This
bill
provides
that
if
the
licensee’s
25
parents
maintain
separate
residences,
the
residence
of
any
26
parent
that
has
physical
custody
or
visitation
rights
is
27
considered
the
licensee’s
residence,
as
long
as
that
parent
28
resides
in
the
school
district
in
which
the
licensee
is
29
enrolled
or
in
a
contiguous
school
district.
