Section
1.
ELDER
ABUSE
REVIEW
AND
REPORT.

1.
The
department
of
human
services
shall
work
with
the
2
department
of
inspections
and
appeals,
the
department
on
3
aging,
and
the
office
of
the
attorney
general
to
conduct
a
4
comprehensive
review
of
occurrences
of
and
laws
relating
to
the
5
abuse,
neglect,
or
exploitation
of
individuals
in
the
state
who
6
are
sixty
years
of
age
or
older.

2.
The
review
shall
include
all
of
the
following:

a.
The
current
situation
of
abuse,
neglect,
and
9
exploitation
of
individuals
in
the
state
who
are
sixty
years
of
10
age
or
older.
11
b.
An
analysis
of
laws
in
other
states
related
to
the
abuse,
12
neglect,
or
exploitation
of
individuals
who
are
sixty
years
of
13
age
or
older.

c.
An
analysis
of
current
state
law
addressing
issues
15
related
to
abuse,
neglect,
or
exploitation
of
an
individual
16
who
is
sixty
years
of
age
or
older
and
recommendations
for
17
improvements
to
existing
law
or
implementation
of
other
laws
18
specifically
addressing
abuse,
neglect,
or
exploitation
of
an
19
individual
who
is
sixty
years
of
age
or
older.

Other
information
the
department
of
human
services
deems

relevant.

The
department
of
human
services
shall,
by
December
15,

2012,
submit
a
report
of
its
review
including
findings
and

recommendations
to
the
governor
and
general
assembly.

EXPLANATION
26
This
bill
relates
to
improvements
to
and
implementation
of
27
laws
concerning
elder
abuse.
The
bill
requires
the
department
28
of
human
services
to
work
with
the
department
of
inspections
29
and
appeals,
the
department
on
aging,
and
the
office
of
the
30
attorney
general
to
review
issues
related
to
abuse,
neglect,
31
or
exploitation
of
individuals
in
the
state
who
are
60
years
32
of
age
or
older.
The
review
must
include
the
current
issues
33
related
to
the
abuse,
neglect,
and
exploitation
of
individuals

in
the
state
who
are
60
years
of
age
or
older,
an
analysis
of

bill
requires
the
department
of
human
services
to
report

its
