H.F. 2174 Section 1. Section 262.9, subsection 17, Code Supplement 1 2011, is amended by adding the following new paragraph: 2 NEW PARAGRAPH . c. Adopt rules to require the institutions 3 of higher education under the board to reduce the resident 4 undergraduate tuition rate by not less than ten percent 5 for a person who is a resident and who transfers to such an 6 institution after obtaining an associate degree from an Iowa 7 community college. The reduction shall be applied to the 8 tuition charged a student prior to the disbursement of any 9 financial aid for which the student is eligible. 10 EXPLANATION 11 This bill directs the state board of regents to require its 12 universities to reduce the resident undergraduate tuition rate 13 by not less than 10 percent for a person who is a resident and 14 who obtains from an Iowa community college an associate degree 15 and transfers to a regents university.
