H.F. 2152 Section 1. NEW SECTION . 321.20C Cancellation or termination 1 of financial liability coverage by insured. 2 An insurance company that provides financial liability 3 coverage for a motor vehicle which is registered in this state 4 shall not cancel or terminate such coverage at the request 5 of the insured prior to the expiration date indicated on the 6 financial liability card issued for the motor vehicle, unless 7 the insured provides proof that the insured is no longer the 8 owner of the motor vehicle. 9 EXPLANATION 10 This bill prohibits an insurance company that provides 11 financial liability coverage for a motor vehicle which is 12 registered in this state from canceling or terminating such 13 coverage at the request of the insured prior to the expiration 14 date indicated on the financial liability card issued for the 15 motor vehicle, unless the insured provides proof that the 16 insured no longer owns the motor vehicle. 17 -1- LSB 5960YH (2) 84 av/nh 1/ 1
