REGARDING
DISPROPORTIONATE
SHARE
HOSPITAL
PAYMENTS.
The

department
of
human
services
shall
recalculate
the
3
hospital-specific
disproportionate
share
hospital
limits
for
4
the
fiscal
year
beginning
July
1,
2012,
during
the
hospital
5
rebasing
and
recalibration
process,
and
shall
utilize
the
6
federal
disproportionate
share
hospital
allotment
for
the
state
7
to
the
maximum
extent
possible
to
provide
payments
to
recipient
8
hospitals
at
the
maximum
hospital-specific
limit
level
as
9
determined
by
the
recalculation.
The
department
shall
amend
10
the
medical
assistance
state
plan
as
necessary
to
implement
11
this
directive.

EXPLANATION
13
This
bill
directs
the
department
of
human
services
(DHS)
14
to
recalculate
the
hospital-specific
disproportionate
share
15
hospital
DHS
limits
for
the
fiscal
year
beginning
July
1,
2012,
16
during
the
hospital
rebasing
and
recalibration
process,
and
to
17
utilize
the
federal
DHS
allotment
for
the
state
to
the
maximum
18
extent
possible
to
provide
payments
to
recipient
hospitals
at
19
the
maximum
hospital-specific
limit
level
as
determined
by
the
20
recalculation.
The
bill
also
directs
DHS
to
amend
the
medical
21
assistance
state
plan
as
necessary
to
implement
the
directive.
