H.F. 2061 Section 1. Section 481A.48, subsection 1, Code Supplement 1 2011, is amended to read as follows: 2 1. A person, except as otherwise provided by law, shall 3 not willfully disturb, pursue, shoot, kill, take or attempt to 4 take, or have in possession any of the following game birds 5 or animals except within the open season established by the 6 commission: gray or fox squirrel, bobwhite quail, cottontail 7 or jackrabbit, duck, snipe, pheasant, goose, woodcock, 8 partridge, mourning dove, coot, rail, ruffed grouse, wild 9 turkey, pigeon, or deer. The seasons, bag limits, possession 10 limits, and locality shall be established by the department or 11 commission under the authority of sections 456A.24 , 481A.38 , 12 and 481A.39 . 13 Sec. 2. EFFECTIVE UPON ENACTMENT. This Act, being deemed of 14 immediate importance, takes effect upon enactment. 15 EXPLANATION 16 This bill strikes language which authorizes the natural 17 resource commission to establish a season for hunting mourning 18 doves.
