H.F. 20 Section 1. Section 455B.304, Code 2011, is amended by adding 1 the following new subsection: 2 NEW SUBSECTION . 20. The commission shall adopt rules 3 providing an exemption from requirements regarding the lining 4 of sanitary landfills if the sanitary landfill for which 5 the exemption is sought has only received construction and 6 demolition waste during the fifteen years prior to the date of 7 the application for an exemption and the sanitary landfill has 8 not received residential waste during that same time period. 9 EXPLANATION 10 This bill relates to lining exemptions for sanitary 11 landfills. 12 The bill requires the environmental protection commission to 13 adopt rules providing an exemption from requirements regarding 14 the lining of sanitary landfills if the sanitary landfill for 15 which the exemption is sought has only received construction 16 and demolition waste during the 15 years prior to the date of 17 the application for an exemption and the sanitary landfill has 18 not received residential waste during that same time period. 19 -1- LSB 1283YH (1) 84 tm/nh 1/ 1
