S.F. _____ Section 1. Section 423F.5, Code 2009, is amended by adding 1 the following new subsection: 2 NEW SUBSECTION . 3. The department of education, in 3 consultation with the auditor of state, shall collect the 4 financial information required in subsection 1 as related 5 to chapters 423E and 423F, as applicable, from each school 6 district for each budget year to be submitted to the general 7 assembly in an annual report each December 31. The first 8 report shall be due December 31, 2010. 9 EXPLANATION 10 This bill requires the department of education, with 11 assistance from the state auditor, to collect specific 12 information, relating to the expenditure of statewide school 13 infrastructure funding under Code chapters 423E and 423F, from 14 school districts’ financial audits.
