BENEFITS
STUDY.
The
department
of
veterans
affairs
shall
3
conduct
a
study,
in
collaboration
with
the
state
board
of
4
regents
and
the
department
of
education
and
other
postsecondary
5
stakeholders
as
determined
by
the
department
of
veterans
6
affairs,
of
the
need
to
provide
greater
postsecondary
7
undergraduate
education
benefits
for
veterans
and
their
8
dependents,
including
but
not
limited
to
dependent
children
of
9
service-connected
disabled
veterans.
The
study
shall
include
10
a
review
of
current
federal
education
benefits
for
veterans
11
and
their
dependents,
cost
and
participation
estimates,
and
a
12
review
of
educational
benefits
currently
provided
to
veterans
13
and
their
dependents
by
other
states
throughout
the
country.

The
department
of
veterans
affairs
shall
submit
its
findings
15
and
recommendations
in
a
report
to
the
general
assembly
by
16
December
31,
2010.

EXPLANATION
18
This
bill
directs
the
department
of
veterans
affairs
to
19
conduct
a
study,
in
collaboration
with
the
state
board
of
20
regents,
the
department
of
education,
and
other
postsecondary
21
stakeholders
as
determined
by
the
department
of
veterans
22
affairs,
of
the
need
to
provide
greater
postsecondary
23
undergraduate
education
benefits
for
veterans
and
their
24
dependents,
including
but
not
limited
to
dependent
children
of
25
service-connected
disabled
veterans.
The
study
shall
include
26
a
review
of
current
federal
education
benefits
for
veterans
27
and
their
dependents,
cost
and

estimates,
and
a

review
of
educational
benefits
currently
provided
to
veterans

and
their
dependents
by

states.
The
department
shall
