may
be
paroled
directly
to
the
receiving
state

rather
than
to
a
residential
facility
operated
by
a
judicial

district
department
of
correctional
services
in
this
state.

EXPLANATION

This
bill
relates
to
another
jurisdiction
holding
a
detainer
10
against
an
inmate
in
this
state.

The
bill
permits
a
person
paroled
who
has
a
detainer
lodged
12
against
the
person
under
the
provisions
of
Code
chapter
821
to
13
be
paroled
directly
to
the
receiving
state
rather
than
to
a
14
residential
facility
operated
by
a
judicial
district
department
15
of
correctional
services
in
this
state.

A
detainer
is
a
formal
notification
filed
under
the
17
procedures
of
Code
chapter
821
advising
the
jurisdiction
18
holding
an
inmate
that
the
same
inmate
is
wanted
for
untried
19
criminal
charges
in
the
notifying
jurisdiction.
