Section
1.
ELECTRICIAN
LICENSING
STUDY.
The
department
of
1
public
safety,
in
consultation
with
the
electrical
examining
2
board,
shall
prepare
a
report
detailing
the
economic
impact
3
of
the
electrician
and
electrical
contractor
licensing
and
4
inspection
requirements
of
chapter
103,
with
particular
5
attention
to
the
impact
on
small
business.
The
report
shall
6
also
detail
any
improvements
to
public
safety
that
have
7
resulted
from
the
licensing
and
inspection
requirements.
The
8
department
shall
file
its
report
with
the
general
assembly
by
9
June
30,
2011.

Sec.
2.
PLUMBER
LICENSING
STUDY.
The
department
of
public
11
health,
in
consultation
with
the
plumbing
and
mechanical
12
systems
board,
shall
prepare
a
report
detailing
the
economic
13
impact
of
the
licensing
requirements
of
chapter
105,
with
14
particular
attention
to
the
impact
on
small
business.
The
15
report
shall
also
detail
the
impact
on
licensees
of
the
fee
16
structure
for
licenses
as
established
in
641
IAC
ch.
28.
The
17
department
shall
file
its
report
with
the
general
assembly
by
18
June
30,
2011.

EXPLANATION
20
This
bill
requires
the
department
of
public
safety
to
21
report
to
the
general
assembly
concerning
economic
effects
22
and
benefits
of
state
licensure
of
electricians
and
the
state
23
inspection
requirements.
24
The
bill
also
requires
the
department
of
public
health
to
25
report
to
the
general
assembly
concerning
economic
effects
26
and
benefits
of
state
licensure
of
plumbers,
mechanical
27
professionals,
and
contractors,
with
emphasis
on
the
impact
of
28
the
fee
structure
for
licenses.
29
The
reports
are
required
to
be
prepared
in
consultation
with
30
the
electrical
examining
board
and
the
plumbing
and
mechanical
31
systems
board.
The
reports
must
be
filed
with
the
general
32
assembly
by
June
30,
2011.
