1.
Section
483A.24,
Code
2009,
is
amended
by
adding
1
the
following
new
subsection:

NEW
SUBSECTION
.
3A.
The
director
may
provide
up
to
five
3
hundred
nonresident
deer
hunting
licenses
for
allocation
as
4
destination
park
licenses.
The
licenses
issued
pursuant
5
to
this
subsection
shall
be
in
addition
to
the
number
of
6
nonresident
licenses
authorized
pursuant
to
section
483A.8.

The
purpose
of
the
special
nonresident
licenses
is
to
allow
8
the
promotion
of
any
state
park
designated
by
statute
as
a
9
destination
park.
The
commission,
by
rule,
shall
determine
10
the
cost
for
the
licenses,
and
where
and
for
what
seasons
11
the
licenses
are
valid.
The
licenses
may
be
issued
in
12
conjunction
with
the
provision
of
lodging
and
other
services
by
13
a
destination
park
as
determined
by
the
commission
by
rule.

EXPLANATION
15
This
bill
allows
the
director
of
the
department
of
natural
16
resources
to
provide
up
to
500
nonresident
deer
hunting
17
licenses
for
allocation
as
destination
park
licenses.
18
The
licenses
issued
are
in
addition
to
the
nonresident
19
deer
hunting
licenses
that
are
currently
available
under
20
Code
section
483A.8.
The
purpose
of
the
special
nonresident
21
licenses
is
to
allow
the
promotion
of
state
parks
that
are
22
designated
by
statute
as
destination
parks.
23
The
natural
resource
commission
is
allowed,
by
rule,
24
to
determine
the
cost
for
the
licenses,
where
and
for
what
25
seasons
the
licenses
are
valid,
and
to
issue
the
licenses
in
26
conjunction
with
the
provision
of
lodging
and
other
services

by
a
destination
park.
