NEW SECTION . 80.26 Designation by department of 1 administrative services. 2 Notwithstanding the use of the designations “enforcement 3 officer” , “officer” , “gaming enforcement officer” , and “special 4 agent” in this chapter and chapters 97A, 97B, 99D, and 99F, 5 nothing shall prohibit the department of administrative 6 services from officially designating gaming enforcement 7 officers or special agents by another class title for purposes 8 of identifying job classifications. Any official class 9 title designation made by the department of administrative 10 services shall not create or establish any new employee rights 11 with respect to promotional opportunities, compensation, or 12 benefits, or establish any connection that does not exist as 13 of July 1, 2010, between the designation of gaming enforcement 14 officer and any existing job classifications, including special 15 agents, as a result of a change in designation. 16 Sec. 2. LEGISLATIVE INTENT —— CONSTRUCTION. 17 1. It is the intent of the general assembly that any change 18 in class title designation pursuant to this Act shall not 19 modify the existing job classification or duties for a gaming 20 enforcement officer. The general assembly reaffirms that 21 changes to existing compensation levels should be determined 22 by the collective bargaining process and not determined by a 23 change in employee designation as authorized by this Act. 24 2. Any change to the class title designation by the 25 department of administrative services relating to gaming 26 enforcement officers pursuant to this Act shall be construed as 27 a nonsubstantive change. 28 EXPLANATION 29 This bill relates to the designation of a gaming enforcement 30 officer. 31 The bill authorizes the department of administrative 32 services to change the class title designation of a “gaming 33 enforcement officer”. S.F. 2160 with respect to promotional opportunities, compensation, or 1 benefits, or establish any connection that does not already 2 exist as of July 1, 2010, between the designation of gaming 3 enforcement officer and any existing job classifications 4 including special agents.
