S.F. 2129 Section 1. Section 99F.1, subsection 12, Code 2009, is 1 amended to read as follows: 2 12. “Gambling game” means any game of chance authorized by 3 the commission. However, for racetrack enclosures, “gambling 4 game” does not include table games of chance or video machines 5 which simulate table games of chance, unless otherwise 6 authorized by this chapter. “Gambling game” does not may, if 7 authorized by the commission, include sports betting. 8 Sec. 2. CONTINGENT IMPLEMENTATION. This Act shall be 9 implemented only upon a determination by the racing and gaming 10 commission that federal law does not prohibit professional and 11 amateur sports betting in this state at a licensed facility 12 under the jurisdiction of the commission. 13 EXPLANATION 14 This bill permits the racing and gaming commission to 15 authorize sports betting as a gambling game that may be 16 conducted on a gambling boat, gambling structure, or racetrack 17 enclosure authorized to conduct gambling games.
