S.F. 2036 Section 1. Section 321.463, Code Supplement 2009, is 1 amended by adding the following new subsection: 2 NEW SUBSECTION . 13. A vehicle or combination of vehicles 3 is exempt from the weight limitations of this section when 4 a retractable axle is raised in order to complete a turn, 5 provided that the retractable axle is lowered at the earliest 6 opportunity following the turn and the vehicle or combination 7 of vehicles is in compliance with the weight limitations of 8 this section when the retractable axle is lowered. 9 EXPLANATION 10 This bill provides a temporary exemption from axle weight 11 limitations for a vehicle or combination of vehicles when a 12 retractable axle is raised in order to make a turn, so long as 13 the vehicle is otherwise in compliance when the retractable 14 axle is in use.
