1.
Section
321.112,
Code
2009,
is
amended
to
read

as
follows:

Minimum
motor
vehicle
fee.

No
motor
vehicle,
except
as
provided
in
section

shall

registered
for
a
registration

for
less
than
ten
dollars.

to

years
old

older
may
be

registered
as
an
antique
vehicle.

at

purposes,
may
register
the
vehicle
as
a
“limited

use”
vehicle
in
accordance
with
sections
321.58
through
321.62
.

The
“limited
use”
registration
limited
use
antique
vehicle
20
for
an
annual
fee
of
five
dollars.
Registration
under
this
21
paragraph
permits
driving
of
the
vehicle
upon
the
public
22
roads
to
and
from
state
and
county
fairs
or
other
places
of
23
entertainment
or
education
for
exhibition
or
educational
24
purposes
,
and
to
and
from
service
stations
for
the
purpose
25
of
receiving
necessary
maintenance,
or
for
the
purposes
of
26
transporting,
testing,
demonstrating,
or
selling
the
vehicle
,
27
or
for
other
occasional
use
.
For
purposes
of
this
paragraph,
28
“other
occasional
use”
means
driving
of
the
vehicle
for
not
more
29
than
a
total
of
one
thousand
miles
annually.

EXPLANATION

Currently,
if
a
motor
vehicle
is
25
years
old
or
older,
32
the
owner
may
register
the
vehicle
as
an
antique
vehicle,
33
subject
to
the
regular
registration
fees
for
the
vehicle.
The

registration
entitles
the
owner
to
display
authentic
model
year

registration
plates
from
the
model
year
of
the
vehicle.
If
the
1
vehicle
is
a
motor
truck,
truck
tractor,
road
tractor,
or
motor

home
that
is
used
exclusively
for
exhibition
or
educational

purposes,
the
owner
may
apply
for
a
limited
use
registration
4
subject
to
a
fee
of
$70
for
a
two-year
certificate
and
$40
for
5
a
set
of
registration
plates
valid
for
the
two-year
period.

The
limited
use
registration
allows
the
display
of
model
year
7
registration
plates
and
also
permits
driving
to
and
from
state
8
and
county
fairs
and
other
places
for
exhibition
and
education
9
purposes
and
to
and
from
service
stations,
or
for
purposes
of
10
transporting,
testing,
demonstrating,
or
selling
the
vehicle.

This
bill
allows
the
owner
of
any
antique
motor
vehicle
12
the
option
of
registering
the
vehicle
as
a
limited
use
13
antique
vehicle
for
an
annual
fee
of
$5.
The
bill
adds
“other
14
occasional
use”
to
the
purposes
for
which
a
limited
use
antique
15
vehicle
may
be
driven,
and
defines
“other
occasional
use”
to
16
mean
driving
not
more
than
1,000
miles
annually.
