S.F. 2031 Section 1. Section 627.6, subsection 14, Code 2009, is 1 amended to read as follows: 2 14. The debtor’s interest, not to exceed one thousand 3 dollars in the aggregate, in any cash on hand, bank deposits, 4 credit union share drafts, or other deposits, wherever 5 situated, or in any other personal property not otherwise 6 specifically provided for in whether otherwise exempt or not 7 under this chapter. 8 EXPLANATION 9 This bill allows a debtor in a bankruptcy action who is a 10 resident of this state an additional exemption (up to $1,000) 11 for any personal property. Current law limits this additional 12 exemption relating to other personal property to such property 13 not otherwise specifically exempted under Code chapter 627. 14 -1- LSB 5309XS (4) 83 rh/rj 1/ 1
