S.F. 2030 Section 1. NEW SECTION . 476.8A Billing statement disclosure 1 —— alternative and renewable energy. 2 A public utility furnishing electricity shall disclose 3 on each customer billing statement the percentage of the 4 total amount of electricity furnished to the customer during 5 the billing period and reflected on the statement that was 6 derived from alternative and renewable energy sources. For the 7 purposes of this section, “alternative and renewable energy” 8 means the same as in section 469.31. 9 EXPLANATION 10 This bill requires a public utility which furnishes 11 electricity to disclose on each customer billing statement the 12 percentage of the total amount of electricity furnished to 13 the customer during the billing period which was derived from 14 alternative and renewable energy sources. The bill references 15 a definition of “alternative and renewable energy” contained 16 in Code section 469.31 as including solar, wind turbine, waste 17 management, resource recovery, recovered energy generation, 18 refuse-derived fuel, hydroelectric, agricultural crops or 19 residues, hydrogen produced using renewable fuel sources, and 20 woodburning, or relating to renewable fuel development and 21 distribution. 22 -1- LSB 5119XS (8) 83 rn/sc 1/ 1
