NEW SECTION . 598.23B Willful failure to 1 pay support —— repeated contempt citations —— reduction or 2 termination of visitation time. 3 If a person against whom an order or decree for support has 4 been entered pursuant to this chapter or chapter 234, 252A, 5 252C, 252F, 600B, or any other support chapter, or a comparable 6 chapter of a foreign jurisdiction, willfully fails to make 7 payments or provide medical support pursuant to that order 8 or decree, and is repeatedly cited and punished by the court 9 for contempt under this or any other chapter, the court may 10 order modification of the visitation provisions of the order or 11 decree to reduce or terminate visitation time with the child. 12 EXPLANATION 13 This bill provides that if a person against whom an order or 14 decree for support has been entered, willfully fails to make 15 payments or provide medical support pursuant to the order or 16 decree and is repeatedly cited and punished by the court for 17 contempt, the court may order modification of the visitation 18 provisions of the decree or order to reduce or terminate 19 visitation time with the child. 20 -1- LSB 5303SS (3) 83 pf/nh 1/ 1
