H.F. _____ Section 1. Section 514I.5, subsection 8, paragraph e, 1 Code Supplement 2009, is amended by adding the following new 2 subparagraph: 3 NEW SUBPARAGRAPH . (16) Chiropractic services. 4 Sec. 2. Section 514I.6, Code Supplement 2009, is amended by 5 adding the following new subsection: 6 NEW SUBSECTION . 7. Permit any chiropractor licensed under 7 chapter 151 who is located in the geographic coverage area 8 served by the plan and who agrees to abide by the plan’s terms, 9 conditions, reimbursement rates, and quality standards to serve 10 as a participating provider in any plan offered to eligible 11 children under this chapter, including but not limited to a 12 limited provider network plan as defined in section 514C.13. 13 EXPLANATION 14 This bill provides that chiropractic services are a 15 benefit to be included in a qualified child health plan under 16 the hawk-i program. Additionally, the bill directs that 17 participating insurers are to permit a licensed chiropractor 18 located in the geographic coverage area served by the insurer’s 19 plan who agrees to abide by the plan’s terms, conditions, 20 reimbursement rates, and quality standards to serve as 21 a participating provider in any plan offered to eligible 22 children, including a limited provider network plan. 23 -1- LSB 5519YC (2) 83 pf/nh 1/ 1
