TASK
FORCE.

The
department
of
education
shall
convene
a
task
force
to

review
the
present
mission,
structure,
governance,
and
funding

of
the
area
education
agency
system
to
determine
if
the
current

model
is
applicable
to
the
challenges
and
requirements
of
6
twenty-first
century
learning.

2.
The
task
force
membership
shall
be
comprised
of
education
8
stakeholders
and
consumers
of
area
education
agency
services
9
including
but
not
limited
to
persons
representing
the
following
10
entities
or
individuals:

a.
The
department
of
education.
12
b.
Area
education
agencies.
13
c.
The
Iowa
association
of
school
boards.
14
d.
The
Iowa
state
education
association.
15
e.
The
school
administrators
of
Iowa.
16
f.
Accredited
nonpublic
schools.
17
g.
A
parent
or
guardian
of
a
child
receiving
special
18
education
services.
19
h.
The
chairpersons
and
ranking
members
of
the
senate
and
20
house
standing
committees
on
education.

3.
The
task
force
shall
submit
its
findings
and

recommendations
in
a
report
to
the
general
assembly
by
December

EXPLANATION
25
This
bill
establishes
a
task
force
to
review
the
present
26
mission,
structure,
governance,
and
funding
of
the
area
27
education
agency
system
to
determine
if
the
current
model
is
28
applicable
to
the
challenges
and
requirements
of
21st
century
29
learning.
30
The
task
force
membership
must
be
comprised
of
education
31
stakeholders
and
consumers
of
area
education
agency
services,
32
including
the
department
of
education,
area
education
agencies,
33
the
Iowa
association
of
school
boards,
the
Iowa
state
education
34
association,
the
school
administrators
of
Iowa,
accredited
