S.F. _____ H.F. _____ Section 1. Section 905.14, subsection 1, Code 2009, is 1 amended to read as follows: 2 1. A person placed on probation or parole and subject to 3 supervision by a district department shall be required to pay 4 an enrollment fee of three six hundred dollars to the district 5 department to offset the costs of supervision. In addition 6 to the enrollment fee, the district department may require a 7 person to pay a fee to the district department to offset the 8 costs of providing sex offender programming to that person. 9 EXPLANATION 10 This bill relates to the enrollment fee for persons placed 11 on probation or parole. 12 The bill increases the enrollment fee from $300 to $600. 13 The fee is payable to the district department of correctional 14 services to offset the costs of supervision. The fee is 15 not waivable by the court but may be waived by the district 16 department of correctional services if the district department 17 determines the person is unable to pay. 18 -1- LSB 5307DP (3) 83 jm/rj 1/ 1
