Section
96.5,
subsection
1,
Code
2009,
is
amended
1
by
adding
the
following
new
paragraph:

PARAGRAPH
.
b.
The
individual’s
leaving
was
caused
by
3
the
relocation
of
the
individual’s
spouse
by
the
military.
The
4
employer’s
account
shall
not
be
charged
for
any
benefits
paid
5
to
an
individual
who
leaves
due
to
the
relocation
of
a
military
6
spouse.
Relief
of
charges
under
this
paragraph
applies
to
7
both
contributory
and
reimbursable
employers,
notwithstanding
8
section
96.8,
subsection
5.

EXPLANATION

This
bill
allows
unemployment
insurance
benefits
for
an
11
individual
who
left
employment
because
of
the
relocation
of
the
12
individual’s
spouse
due
to
a
military
assignment
in
another
13
area.
14
An
individual’s
employer
shall
not
be
charged
for
any
15
benefits
paid
under
this
exception.
Relief
of
charges
16
applies
to
both
contributory
and
reimbursable
employers,
17
notwithstanding
Code
section
96.8(5).
